I like it. The gesso texture doesn't bother me, it just reminds you that it's an actual painting.
Nice color.

Thank you for noticing Windmill Afternoon, that was one of the first paintings after a long absence from painting...

I actually like the heavy gesso effects. Is the base of the windmill rather textured compared to the cloudy areas? I feel like this one is more spectacular in person (then again, aren't paintings always like that?)

Really lovely job on keeping the hue of the light consistent to create a beautiful, specific atmospheric environment. I also love the geometry of the linear windmill forms against the organic greenery all around it.

Thank you very much, this was a rather difficult work to keep atmosphere in context with everything else going on, you sound like you may have had design or art history or other art classes, a very nice worded critique...

yup, I'm in my last semester of undergrad. One of my close favorite professors is a dogmatic formalist but I'll be damned if I can't specifically describe and analyze art after his very educational lectures.

Yo, just had 3 terms of History of Western Art,interesting but I'm glad those classes are done, the design classes were alright and a lot of work,no formal kind of painting lessons though, trying to do an online BA in illustration thing hopefully in Nov or at the worst after this term at community, nice talking to you good luck with your endeavors...
