Leaving Frisco

Oil over tinted gesso on 24x30" canvas. This is supposed to be a depiction of a three masted steel-hulled cargo Bark built in the 1890's sailing out of San Francisco Bay, sailing south along the west coast of the United States rounding South America and the fierce Cape Horn, then north by east through the Straights of Gibralter and into the Mediteranean Sea stopping at Sicily for a few hundred barrels of red wine, again sailing north to the far and very distant ports in the norhtern Adriatic Sea.
